Earlier this year, KCA’s Medicare Committee submitted a set of questions to CMS about chiropractors treating patients enrolled in Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans when the provider isn’t in that plan’s network. We finally got an official, written answer — and it settles several questions members ask us regularly about billing, disclosure, and whether an insurer can force you into its network.
The Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act (H.R. 539) continues to gain bipartisan support in Congress. If passed, the bill would expand Medicare coverage for services provided by Doctors of Chiropractic and improve access to care for Medicare beneficiaries.
