2026 KCA Doctor of the Year: Cast Your Vote
Each year, KCA members select the Doctor of the Year by ballot vote from candidates nominated by the KCA Board of Directors and Officers, KCA district officers, committee chairs, and chiropractic members of the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. This award recognizes a Kansas Doctor of Chiropractic who has gone above and beyond for the profession, their patients, and their community.
This year’s ballot includes four outstanding candidates. Review their biographies below, then cast your vote.
Voting Details
Voting opens at 8:00 a.m. on August 24, 2026, and closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2026. Each KCA member may vote once, and your vote is confidential and cannot be traced back to you. The winner will be announced at the KCA Annual Meeting on Saturday, September 26, 2026, during Fall Convention.

2026 Candidates
Dr. Brian Asbury
Dr. Brian Asbury is a 2015 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College and a 2011 graduate of Wichita State University. He is a licensed, bilingual chiropractor serving the Wichita community, offering spinal manipulation, rehabilitative exercise, sports physicals, DOT medical exams, occupational health services, and acupuncture.
Dr. Asbury has been an active leader within KCA, serving as President and Director of the Sedgwick District, Co-Chairman of KCA Governmental Affairs, Treasurer of the KCA PAC, and a member of the KCA Bylaws Committee. He also represents Kansas as a Delegate to the ACA House of Delegates and serves on the ACA House of Delegates Steering Committee. He serves on the Kansas Department of Labor’s Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule Advisory Board and is a certified DOT Medical Examiner.
Dr. Asbury received KCA’s 2017 Young Doctor of the Year award in recognition of his early contributions to the profession and was awarded the Buell O. Boring Memorial Scholarship and the Alumni Association Scholarship during chiropractic college.
Dr. Asbury and his wife, Katie, have a daughter, Keira. He enjoys traveling, boating, cycling, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Katie Benson
Dr. Katie Benson is a 2017 graduate of Cleveland University-Kansas City, where she earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree magna cum laude. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Kansas and spent nine years in a hospital setting, serving as Clinic Director and Lead Regional Trainer, before opening Midwest MSK.
Dr. Benson has been deeply involved in KCA leadership, having served as Metro District President, Alternate Director, and District Director, and currently serves as KCA GAC Co-Chair and a member of the KCA PAC Committee. On the national level, she is the ACA Alternate Delegate for Kansas, a SACA Leadership Conference Advisor, and a member of the ACA Payor Relations Subcommittee. Her advocacy work includes hosting legislators in her office and building co-sponsor support for KCA and ACA legislative priorities.
Clinically, she specializes in dry needling, the McKenzie method, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, and the Webster technique.
Dr. Benson and her husband, Justin, have two daughters, Nora and Ruby. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, traveling, and cheering on the Chiefs, Jayhawks, and Huskers.
Dr. Justin Fulk
Dr. Justin Fulk is a fourth-generation chiropractor who graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 2005. Chiropractic has always been a family profession for Justin, and today he has the privilege of practicing alongside his father and sister. Justin manages the family’s Paola office as well as a second office in Spring Hill, where he works with two associate chiropractors.
Justin has been actively involved with KCA for many years. He served for several years as Kansas City Metro District President before going on to serve as KCA Secretary/Treasurer (2018-2019), Vice President (2020-2021), President (2022-2023), and Immediate Past President (2024-2025). He has also served on numerous KCA committees, including the Strategic Plan Committee, and currently chairs the KCA Bylaws Committee.
His commitment to service extends beyond the chiropractic profession to his local community, where he has served as President of the Paola Chamber of Commerce.
Justin and his wife, Amanda, have two children, 4-year-old Kinlee and 7-month-old Kyler. He enjoys playing with his kids, following K-State sports, and spending time at the lake with his family.
Dr. Bradley Pyle
Dr. Bradley Pyle is a 2010 graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College. He has been a longtime leader within KCA, serving as North Central Kansas District President, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and President, as well as Chair of the KCA Medicare Committee, Insurance Chair, and Chair of the KCA Strategic Planning Committee. He currently serves on the KCA Executive Committee as Past-President, continues his work on the BCBSKS Insurance Liaison Committee, and serves on the KCA Membership Committee.
Dr. Pyle received the 2018 KCA Dr. Darrell Fore Young Doctor of the Year Award. He has traveled to Topeka and Washington, D.C., several times to advocate for the chiropractic profession and its patients.
Dr. Pyle and his wife, Jandee, have two children, Lairyn and Doak. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors, and continuing to learn and grow within the chiropractic profession.
