During these meetings, there will be votes for KCA District Leadership.
If you want to be active in the Kansas Chiropractic Association, now is the time to join us in Promoting, Protecting, and Preserving the Art, Science, and Philosophy of Chiropractic in Kansas.
All DCs are invited to attend these meetings, but you must be a KCA Member and work in the KCA District to vote and hold office in the District (see map below for districts).
District Leadership Position Responsibilities
District Director and Alternate Director
- Attend all KCA Board Meetings prepared to discuss items on the agenda.
- Alternate Directors can fully participate in the KCA Board Meetings (i.e., speak to topics when recognized by the President and make motions) but can only vote when their District Director is absent.
- Attend all meetings held in your district prepared to report on the activities of the KCA to district members.
- Must sit on at least one (1) KCA committee.
- RSVP to KCA Executive Director for all Board Meetings and Events
- Maintain your fiduciary duty to the KCA and its members.
District President
- Schedule and coordinate at least three (3) KCA District Meetings within your district per year.
- Typically, district meetings are held at Spring and Fall Conventions, with one more throughout the year.
- District meetings can be in-person or virtual. KCA office staff can assist in setting up virtual meetings.
- In-person District meetings can include a CE component but cannot offer more than 2 hours of Cat 1 CE per event for a total of 8 hours of Cat 1 CE per calendar year.
- Schedule and coordinate other district events as needed.
- Legislative Dinner
- CE Events (see above restrictions)
- Social Events
District Vice-President
- Assist the District President in their duties.
- Attend all District Meetings
District Secretary/Treasurer
- Maintain the minutes of district meetings.
- Minutes should be forwarded to the KCA office after each meeting.
- Attend all District Meetings.
- Maintain the District checking account.
- Deposit district funds.
- Write checks for approved district expenses.
Committee Chairs
- Schedule at least one meeting per quarter (more as needed).
- Meetings can be held in-person or via Zoom. KCA office staff can assist in setting up virtual meetings.
- Nominate a Committee Secretary to take minutes for all committee meetings.
- Submit a written report of the committee’s activities to the KCA Board of Directors at least one week prior to KCA Board meetings. Reports should be submitted even if there is “nothing to report.”
